I’m sure you all can relate: There are days when you wake up knowing it’s already going to be a bad day. Staying burrowed in bed is ideal but duty calls and you have to get on the work-grind. You’re not in your usual positive mood and nothing can make it better – maybe your morning coffee but we all know that lasts for only a half hour. When days like this come, I like to have a go-to outfit that I know will make me feel the slightest bit better in order to take on the day. Even just this boost of confidence can make all the difference. The motto look good, feel good can’t be more accurate here.
Weekends are all for having a not-so-structured routine and that’s what makes them so exciting to look forward to. They’re dedicated for relaxing, sleeping in, taking a stroll, brunching, watching more Netflix, and everything else your heart desires. I mean this is when I can finally enjoy my french press coffee after a week of tolerating the bland coffee at work(!). Exciting, I know…it’s the little things!
Whether you’re having a weekend full of me-time or spending it with friends, you want to keep it casual. Although, this doesn’t mean style has to be sacrificed for comfort. I’m not going to lie, I’m all about the cute and casual look – it’s the perfect outfit blend. Thankfully, mastering the casual chic look isn’t complicated. It only takes a few key points to effortlessly elevate your outfit.
Three words: red power suit. If you follow me on Instagram, you know I attended the UW Fashion Week fashion show this past weekend. I was invited by the on-campus student-run fashion publication, Moda Magazine, who produced this fashion show finale. I had such a fun time and was so happy to spend my Friday night in Madison seeing the show. You can read about my experience in detail here. As for the outfit, I wanted to represent myself and my blog the best way I knew how:
I have a strong appreciation and admiration for designers who have the ability to translate their personal experiences, perspectives and vision into beautiful works of art – art that’s tangible and unlike anything else. Designers’ creations undoubtedly have a major influence within the rest of the industry and in our society. This brilliance doesn’t just pertain to the leading designers in the industry. The industry is full of emerging designers who are more interested in the diverse, inclusive future of fashion. This has been noticeably evident in the past couple seasons of NYFW as young designers are making their mark.
How is it already Friday? How are we already halfway through March?! Honestly, it freaks me out a bit how fast these last couples of weeks have gone. Time seems like it’s moving even faster now than it did in college…which I didn’t think was possible. But time flies when you’re having fun, right?
Finding the perfect style of jeans can be described like a love story: it can take forever to find the right one and you might get disappointed, but in the end it’s all worth it. Surprise, surprise I’ve found my beloved pair of high-waisted jeans and here’s why I’m obsessed:
1. They’re comfortable. Because of the high-rise silhouette, high-waisted jeans keep everything looking and feeling polished. They fit so snug in the best way and perfectly mold to the curves of your figure. Especially if you find a good quality pair you love, you won’t turn back.
2. They’re flattering. In my opinion, high-waisted jeans are the most flattering style of jeans you could possibly wear. They make your butt look so good and just make everything look tight (get it right get it tight). Comfortable and flattering? I can’t make this up.
