If you’re like me, then you know I absolutely thrive in the summertime. I mean, how can one not? Your ootd mostly calls for either a dress, shorts or skirts – no jacket, your skin gets tan and glowy, watermelon is in season, and you get all of those lovely benefits from the extra dose of Vitamin D. Having an epic summer is more than just the festivals you’ll be attending – it’s the little things too. Here are 8 things I do, and what I recommend you do, to have the best summer possible:
Cheers to being halfway through the week loves! I hope you’ve all been having a productive week. I also wanted to give a huge congrats to those that graduated this semester! You might not know it yet, but you’re in for some of the best years of your life.
I was driving on my way home this afternoon and was having all of these thoughts running through my mind. (I find I have the most clarity while driving.) I felt that I needed to write these thoughts down and share them with you. I’ve been going through some changes in my life recently and I know a lot of you are as well – especially the newest graduates. For me, I feel like I’ve finally come to the point where I can accept and embrace change whether it’s wanted or not. Here’s why:
It’s that time of the year when the next senior class is anxiously waiting for school to finally be over. No matter how difficult it is to make it to the finish line, life after college is something to really look forward to. Graduating comes with a mix of emotions and challenges, but it’s completely worth the struggle to get there. Now that I’ve been done with school for almost a year now, I’ve already experienced some of the best things life post-college has to offer. The end of college can be bittersweet, but there are so many better things ahead. Here are some of the best things about life after college:
How is it already Friday? How are we already halfway through March?! Honestly, it freaks me out a bit how fast these last couples of weeks have gone. Time seems like it’s moving even faster now than it did in college…which I didn’t think was possible. But time flies when you’re having fun, right?
It’s safe to say most of us are sick of this constant -5 degree weather and are wishing for summer to be back again; even though it won’t be for another four months at least. If you’re from the Midwest, or really anywhere it snows, you know it’s a lot easier to be happy in the summer *for some reason*. Seasonal depression is a real thing and there are many factors that play into this. In the summer, it’s easier to be more active, get more exposure to the sun, eat healthier (no thanks to the warm, comfort food), and feel overall better. Even though it feels like a long time until then, you don’t have to let the winter drag you down. Here are a few tips on how to beat the winter rut:
Hi loves! Happy New Year! It’s so exciting to have another year in the books – one filled with so many blessings, new experiences and new beginnings. For me, 2017 was a year that was very anticipated and I am so grateful that it was just as amazing as I hoped it’d be. I traveled to Europe for the first time – which was such a dream of mine, I graduated college – the ultimate accomplishment, began my first job in my career, and so much more.
With 2018 underway, I believe it’s important for everyone to reflect on the previous year. It’s important to acknowledge your accomplishments, your failures, and moments of happiness and sadness, to move forward and grow as an individual. With this, I’m not saying you should make New Year’s resolutions because I believe you can make a “resolution” at any time, but I want to inspire and encourage you all to really show up for yourself and take action for what you want – whether that’s right now or for the future. Making small changes, putting in effort for improvement, and creating good habits will truly give you drive and set you up for success. At the end of the day, the only person that will fight for your dreams is you; and you deserve to go after your dreams – because your dreams are possible.
Happy 2018 everyone and have an amazing year!
