Let’s be honest, the idea of V-Day is all fun and games until it comes down to a week before and you’re secretly freaking out about the surprises your SO is (or is not) planning for the romantic occasion. If you’re like me who has been in a long-term relationship before, you know that after the honeymoon phase, the holiday doesn’t have to be something extravagant or elaborate. But that doesn’t mean you can go the day without a bouquet 😉
Alright babes, let’s make 2019 the best yet. A yoga class here and a cycle class there is great, but it’s time to start now in finding and maintaining a consistent workout routine. If you don’t know where to start – I got you. Trust me, life’s more fun with a healthier mindset and a tighter butt. A consistent workout routine will give you both plus so much more!
“As viewers, we bear no witness to outfit experimentation…because everyone today is hell-bent on the final product. And that product, of course, is increasingly the same: a rotation of the same buzzy brands on a similar canvas, one with no-makeup makeup and an enviable case of “bedhead” that really takes hours to come to life.” – The Death of Personal Style , whowhatwear.com
I recently read an article on whowhatwear.com, “The Death of Personal Style” that had ideas written in words I was only pondering – until now. For many reasons, this article evoked a reflection and discussion I felt necessary to write here on the blog. Entering into 2019, now more than ever are the world and its industries constantly evolving – including the fashion industry. Primary factors, which greatly influence these industries today, were nonexistent even ten years ago. Among these, is the dominating presence of social media. You know the major ones: Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. Within the fashion industry, social media has incrementally changed the content people are consuming day to day and therefore, has drastically impacted consumer behavior as a whole.
Further shining light on 2018, I’ve rounded up my absolute favorite looks from this year, and as you can tell, a good amount of them are from certain events that I so happily got to dress up for. You know I love any excuse to get glammed up.
With the dwindling days of the year comes a metaphorical end of a life stage – or at least I like to view it in this way. Sure the end of a calendar year doesn’t signify any true “end” to a certain life period, but it is a symbolic time in which I utilize it as an opportunity for reflection – as do many. This is a time in which I wholeheartedly reflect on the past year by acknowledging the highs and accepting the lows in order to move on.
