Must-Have Winter Outerwear for Men

January 4, 2018

When it comes to winter outfits, obviously the first priority is to dress for weather conditions. For bracing negative temperatures or trucking in the snow, a quality jacket is a must. At the same time, this doesn’t mean the style of your outwear should be sacrificed. Really, a jacket is the statement piece of your outfit – you want it to still look good. No matter if you’re dressing casual or formal, a jacket can really make your outfit sleek and put together.

Here I have 5 different jacket styles that are must-haves for winter. These jackets can be tailored to anyone’s personal style and are great to throw on over any basic outfit. Depending on how cold it is, you can even layer two different jackets for extra warmth and give your outfit more dimension.

1. Overcoat: An overcoat is a long coat, usually made of wool, that hits at the knee and is specifically for the winter months. This sleek coat is perfect over any formal outfit, whether for work or a formal event.

2. Puffer Jacket: A puffer jacket is a lighter jacket that’s great paired with any casual outfit – giving your outfit a cool, relaxed look.

3. Parka: If the weather is absolutely unbearable, a parka jacket will shield you from the harsh weather. This is a must if you live anywhere where it snows.

4. Peacoat: A peacoat is another option ideal for bad weather. It will ensure to keep you warm while still being fashion forward.

5. Leather Jacket: A leather jacket is a great jacket to have year-round. For winter, it’s great layered under another coat or by itself, layered over a thick sweater.

Happy 2018!

January 1, 2018

Hi loves! Happy New Year! It’s so exciting to have another year in the books – one filled with so many blessings, new experiences and new beginnings. For me, 2017 was a year that was very anticipated and I am so grateful that it was just as amazing as I hoped it’d be. I traveled to Europe for the first time – which was such a dream of mine, I graduated college – the ultimate accomplishment, began my first job in my career, and so much more.

With 2018 underway, I believe it’s important for everyone to reflect on the previous year. It’s important to acknowledge your accomplishments, your failures, and moments of happiness and sadness, to move forward and grow as an individual. With this, I’m not saying you should make New Year’s resolutions because I believe you can make a “resolution” at any time, but I want to inspire and encourage you all to really show up for yourself and take action for what you want – whether that’s right now or for the future. Making small changes, putting in effort for improvement, and creating good habits will truly give you drive and set you up for success. At the end of the day, the only person that will fight for your dreams is you; and you deserve to go after your dreams – because your dreams are possible.

Happy 2018 everyone and have an amazing year!

Teddy Bear Coat

Teddy Bear Coat

If there’s one trend I’ve been loving this winter, it’s the teddy bear coat. What other coat would be more perfect to bundle up in and brace the crisp air? Not only does this look great on, but you can pair it with almost anything. Step up your winter #ootd and throw this on over a basic tee and jeans or even a holiday dress. It will complete your entire look. Plus, it will keep you warm when you have to truck around in the cold and snow. I’ve been obsessed with these, and I would be shocked if these didn’t make a major comeback for next winter too.
