I Just Cleaned Out My Closet: These Are the Items I Purged

WEARING: NORDSTROM TOP | REFORMATION JEANS | TONY BIANCO BOOTIES

With less meetings, events, and simply just less to-ing and fro-ing, now more than ever is there time to tackle mindless, yet productive tasks you’ve been holding off on. Cleaning out your closet is one of those. It may seem daunting and time-consuming up front, but it’ll declutter your space (and mind) that much more. In my most recent purge, these were the pieces that had to go. Consider letting go of these items as well and shop my list of staples to freshen up your closet.

I JUST CLEANED OUT MY CLOSET: THESE ARE THE ITEMS I PURGED

CLOTHES THAT DON’T FIT

If it doesn’t fit, it doesn’t belong. Shop these flattering styles that’ll fit in all the right places:

YOUTHFUL STYLES

Any youthful looking items—whether the print or style—need to go. Adulting your wardrobe doesn’t include keeping clothes from your early 20s. Instead, shop these sleek pieces you’ll wear on repeat:

WORN ITEMS

This includes sleepwear, bikinis, tees, and workout clothes. Once out with the old, add in quality items that’ll be sure to last:

INTIMATES

Toss any intimates that don’t fit properly—especially bras. Instead, purchase a few bras that are well-fitted:

SCUFFED SHOES

The “worn” look may be in right now, but there’s a fine line between that look and sneakers or heels that are actually worn out. If there’s any sign of wear or scuffs, ditch them. Add a few clean styles to replace them:

Up next, shop one of the only sneaker styles that matter for 2020, and how I style them.
